There's no ability to do that with WInodws/OE itself, but there are
thiurd-party programs that can let you do that with any program. A google
search should turn up several.

Hello Effdee,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, based on my knowledge, there is no way to achieve your goal
from Windows XP/Outlook Express. However, I found the following third party
utility that might be helpful:

Minimize To Tray: Minimize to system tray any program you want

..shtml>

Is it possible you could post this in a group with OE in the title?
Notice this group lacks those letters/words (you know, the words
OUTLOOK EXPRESS?).

Yes. It's a registry edit.

User Key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences]
Value Name: MinToTray
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (1 = System Tray, 0 = Taskbar)

Normal precautions apply!.

Indeed! MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express are different applications,
Steve.
