OE slow to open

Hi
I only use OE as a nesreader but I am finding it is not opening correctly.
It opens up in minimised state for about 2-3 secs and then fully opens into
maximised. Is there a way to get it to open in max straight away. I have a
powerful pc with plenty of resources, it shouldnt be a problem. All of my
other progs open very quickly indeed so it must be to do with OE I would
think

Hi,

Probably means that your newsgroup files (*.dbx) are getting very large.
What you need to do is delete the old messages, then re-compact as Mark has
suggested. Easiest way to do this is to create a news rule, then apply it to
either the individual groups, or the server hosting the groups.

did that rick stil no joy
the prog opens with a jerk, first in half size then after 2-3 secs it fully
opens
