OE blocks multimedia attachments such as e-cards

Attachments that used to come through just fine have
recently been blocked by OE as being "unsafe." I know the
sender, and the messages/attachments being sent are
consistent with historical patterns, so I do not suspect
any malicious content (I also know the sender to have
strong security protections.

I have also recently added MacAfee ActiveShield
protection, and do not know what effect this may have on
my ability to receive and open these attachments. I do
not know what to do - any ideas out there? Thanks.

For further information, ask on one of the IE/OE newsgroups, this group is
for MS-Access, but I'll try to help.

Recognize that even attachments from your closest friends may contain a
virus. Not only that, many viruses will spoof an email address and not be
coming from your friend at all.

If you are scanning ALL email, you will be relatively safe if, and only if,
you keep all your security patches up to date:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/

and make sure you always have the latest anti-virus signatures.

Then you can go to Tools ... Options ... security tab and uncheck the item
that block attachments.
