OE 6 Hangs when you click on a hot link in a message

Hi,

I have a small home network with XP Pro and Office 2000.
I use OE v6.00.2800.1123.

I tried downloading patches but it said I was on a
network and I would have to see the administrator. That
was me, but when I tried to download the network patches
it said i was missing a bunch of files.

The othe day I downloaded and installed my employer's
software to access my workplace VPN. All went well and I
have that installed and can readily access it.

But now when I use email and somebody sends me a hotlink,
when I click on it OE hangs hard. The three fingered boot
will bring up the task manager and I can kill OE there.
But, of course, that is not satisfactory.

Help.

Thanks in advance.

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!
