Odd Virus!!!

Hello,

I have windows xp professional, I use trend micros free
online scan to scan my system for virus's and I am also
behind a firewall. I seem to have contracted this virus
that just wont go away! I have system restore turned off
and run the trend micro scan, trend micro detects the
virs "Malware.JS_FORTNIGHT.M" and cleans it but when I
restart the computer the virus is still running. I looked
up on cnets website about info on how to manually remove
the virus and none of the entry's are in the registry for
the virus yet the online scan always scans my system and
says it has dected the worm and cleaned it? I also have a
2000 professional on the network that is not effected by
the virus so I'm guessing that this must be an xp bug.
Can anyone help this never ending worm.

Any help thanks in advance.

It's probably set to run at startup and you can't delete
it untill you disable it from startup or goto secure mode.
If you goto file-->Run, type in msconfig. Once that
program opens, click on the startup tab and look for that
virus program name. If you unclick it and click apply or
ok, it will ask you to restart. Most of the time that will
disable it unless it has backup programs. I would
recommend starting xp on safe mode though and deleting it
from there. Just know where the virus is stored so you can
find it and delete it. Hope that helps.
