ODD thing happened with EPSON CX6400 and Win XP Pro a little help>>>facts inside<<,

Have a small home wired ethernet network (4 boxes) and XP Pro. Got an
Epson CX6400 all-in-one for my wife. It installed fine on her computer
and set it up to share. I accessed it just to see if I could print
from my XP Pro machine and it ALSO worked fine albeit slow. The odd
part is, NOW I have an EPSON printer monitoring icon in my system tray
and I can't get rid of it. I did NOT INSTALL the EPSON software, I
only accessed the printer through the net.

Now, I'm a pretty advanced user and I'm stumped on getting rid of the
thing as I don't have any intentions of using her printer on a regular
basis if ever again.

Anybody have an idea what's up?

I can't answer your question or offer any direct help,
I'm afraid, but my problem sounds similar and therefore
may generate some kind of hint towards a resolution for
both of us..

I HAD and EPSON 740. I replaced it with an HP... when i
came to DELETE the reference to EPSON in my printer list,
I find that I can not delete it. however, Windows knows
it's there - and that it seems to have disconneted
iteslef from the server... but it still stops me from
deleting the da***d thing! It doesn't seem to cauise a
big issue - it's just an eyesore.
