odd scrollbar behavior in IE

Just today I'm noticing a weird behavior in IE.

If you go to a long page like http://news.google.com/ and
click in the empty space of the scrollbar, well below the
scroll box, it'll jump two pages instead of the expected
one page. But if you click in that same area, just below
the scroll box, it'll act correctly and jump one page.

Anyone else seeing this?

A bug in the Q824145 patch. Microsoft knows about it.
Click immediately under the indicator in the scrollbar or drag the
indicator.

position cursor "close" to the top/bottom of the
slider and it will scroll one window. farther away
from slider and it will scroll farther.

press on actual slider and it slides as you move mouse
(desktop computer...laptop will be using the button
or touchpad)

might try using the............
up/down arrow keys (adjust in keyboard properties
window).
pageup/pagedown keys do what is obvious.
home/end keys are too good to be true.

right click scrollbar
menu pops up
select an option

Honestly, I can't beleive they have not fixed this yet.
We have to sacrifice usability in exchange for security?
This is the first critical update I've installed thats
critically broken. All of my systems are now broken -
WinMe, W2K and XP Pro. I thought they used to test these
updates extensively before releasing them to the public?

Another bug: If you right click the scroll bar, then left
click (without moving mouse) to close the menu, you get
yet another popup menu. This should not be by design. As
I've said before in earlier posts - there is something
wrong with the mouse up events being generated properly.
In some circumstances, you can even get the scrollbar area
to remain "black" after clicking below it. Is anyone at
MS listening?

Same here, I use the right click on scrollbar a lot and
the options menu keeps on opening, I don't think this is
normal behavior as it only happening with IE6 and not with
other applications.

They've known about it for 5 days. They not only have to find a fix, they
have to test it to see if it breaks something else. Their testing lab is
very impressive, but it still takes time.
