ODBC Select Data Source window doesn't come up.

File>Get External Data>Import: Files of Type: ODBC doesn't show the window to
select data source. There is no error message, it just doesn't come up.

Any ideas if security or some other application may be interfering?

Probaby your anti-virus. Deactivate the Office Plug-In if you are using
Norton 2006 or the Office File Protection (something like that) if you are
using NAV 2007. You can reenable them after the link has been created.

ODBC and Norton

I too have this problem, I have tried disabling Norton and the same symptom link to ODBC window flashes and then closes. It must be a firewall but I am damned if I can find it.

UPDATE: I deinstalled Norton and the ODBC connector worked again and so it must be in a part of Norton that I could not disable.

Another symptom appears to be open a table to MYSQL and the access table seems to time out and so I get copy to clipboard (user changed data message) after about 4 secs. I have checked settings and have refresh and ODBC timeout adjusted to reasonable intervals
