ODBC Drivers error #-2147217900

I am using excel 97 with another software program can keep
getting the following error.....

[Microsoft][ODBC EXEL DRIVER] invalid bracketing of
name '[Sheet1$'. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC
Drivers error #-2147217900-[Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver]
invalid bracketing of name '[sheet1$'.

Is there anything i can download or do to fix this problem?
