ODBC 2003 to 97

I am working in Access 2003. However many of my companies employees are still
on Access 97. When I take an Access 2003 and convert it to Access 97
everything works fine except the conversion of the ODBC linked tables. My
workaround has been to

1. Delete all the links in Access 2003.
2. Convert to Access 97.
3. Relink all the tables in Access 97.

This is very time consuming and with the quantity of databases I work on it
is getting out of hand. Is there a solution to automate this issue? Any help
is greatly appreciated.
