Obsessed with slideshow layout...PLEASE HELP!

Hi again!

I have been trying to change the view of my photo gallery. While doing so,
I saved the pictures in a folder. Later, when I opened the folder, I saw the
view that I've been trying to get for my website created in FP2003. I want a
horizontal slide show with a large picture at the top and 6 thumbnails that
rotate horizontally under the large picture. This orientation is not
available in the FP manual. Can someone tell me how to get this very same
orientation? It was suggested that I use JAlbum, but it's not there either.
I am a newbie and this is driving me crazy. If anyone can help me and
explain this in a VERY SIMPLE manner, I would be so grateful. Plus, I would
need to know exactly where to insert the information.

Maybe my family can eat dinner before Monday!!!! My 7 year old told his
friend, I was obsessed with FRONT STAGE...I had a good chuckle with that
comment. I hoped that I could copy and paste the picture but it didn't
work. I'm generating this image below so that you can see what I'm trying to
do. Thanks so much for your patience and help.

Horizontal Orientation instead of vertical.

This is the large picture

These are the thumbnails.

When you click on a thumbnail, it moves to the top to become a large
picture.

JAlbum Exhibit and Exhibit Plus, if I remember correctly can be configured with the previews below the main display. You experiment with JAlbum...they are very configurable, to tell you which one you need or would like is difficult.

Download it and play around, after you find one you like and are happy with the configuration you just Import the entire folder that you generated the album into into FP. The HARDEST part is deciding which of the MANY formats/skins to use!

seems the folks on here are quite impressed with JALBUM and detest built in
FP versions. The FP versions are not very customizable but I think are quite
nicer graphically. I was very underwhelmed by the JALBUM shows, they look
kind of cheesy. I didn't download it so maybe if you play around with it you
can get something nicer looking.
It is a PLUG-IN that means it is an add on program you have to download it
and install it. I am not sure if it works direct through FrontPage or if you
make the slideshow and then import/insert it into your page?
You can try a java script to show photos from thumbnails as well.

I have not run into all of the problems many people here have with the
FrontPage Photo Gallery component...that being said... people might want to
take a look at how it renders in browsers *besides* IE.... It isn't always a
pretty picture! :)

That's right...and you can't customize FP's slideshow gallery.
I've only run into probs with fp a few times...if you keep it simple it works fine...usually.

It's not a plug in. It's totally independent. You create your album to a folder outside of fp then import it into FP.

Okay, so if I create the picture page outside of FP and then import, can I
still use the slide show function? Click on small thumbnail, which should
re-position to the top position and become a large picture.???

No. The photo gallery has the thumbs along the top and the big (selected pic) appears under the thumbs when you select a thumb the bottom big pix changes - can't change how it works or the layout.
