I found an interesting thing (at least to me), related to *Safe to Shut
down.*
After trying all the tip from the news group and URL's suggested by
MVP's and others I'm still left with a computer not shutting down. The
only suggestion I haven't acted upon is un-installing Zone Alarm. I did
disable it in *system Config.* which made no difference. However, I no
longer have to hold the off button in for five seconds.
I initiated a shut down with Juno.COM still on line, using the short cut
I put on the task bar.
Shut down went through part of the process and hung. Neither the Start
menu or short cut would shut it down after Juno closed. I went to
*Start* clicked on *Log Off*. When the new log on menu came up I chose
Shut Down. And for the first time the computer shut all the way
down. No pushing the Off button. My question is why does it shut down
this way when it won't either from the short cut or the Start menu while
the primary user is signed in.?
