objects keep centering themselves

Whenever I click on an object in Powerpoint 2007, the program automatically
shifts the view to the object's center. Does anyone know how to disable this
feature? When working at highly magnified views, this feature can be quite
annoying as it keeps causing me to jump to the centre of objects.

It's a bug with no current fix. (Don't shoot the messenger.) I know that
many of us here are hoping MS fixes this soon via patch or service pack or
whatever, because it's certainly maddening.
