Auto view change

Ok, this is driving me up the wall. I'm using Powerpoint 2007 for developing
large block diagrams on 11x17 pages. I'll zoom in, select a single object,
modify it, and as soon as I deselect it the view suddenly shifts back to
centered on the slide! How can I turn this feature off??
