O07: How to make default like before "Search subfoldlers" which we now have to tick all the time.

I've always relied a lot on the Advanced Find in Outlook. But when
changing where to look and changing that to tick the top of the tree,
for the first time ever, Outlook 2007 doesn't have the default of
searching subfolders, which is pretty backward. It took me a while to
see that box because that had never happened before in prior Outlook
versions.

How can I change it so that it's a default to search everything?

Thanks. :blush:D

Correct, that is a change of defaults in Outlook 2007.
In retrospect, if you disabled the option in Outlook 2003, it didn't
remember it either and enabled it again the next time you used Advanced
Find.

Most of the queries can also be made via the Instant Search field. In the
Navigation Pane you can select "All Mail Items" or press CTRL+ALT+A to do a
mailbox wide search.

This search function is pretty neat, must admit. For once, not just 1
step forward, 3 steps back with a new install, we got a very good
feature to begin with.

However, I really need to get that default fixes, esp. if it doesn't
involve a registry fix. At the office, we still need to have a more
advanced find. This new find above is really good and handy and fast
but the majority of finds will stil require more parameters which is
covered in the Advanced Find. However, remembering to have to click
the search all subfolders is reallly stupid. How do we get that back
as a default.

Thanks. :blush:D
