O.T. !!! Can't get help on PC-cillin!

Hi,

I'M DESPERATELYLOST IN THE SUPPORT PAGES OF TREND MICRO'!S PC-cillin
!!!

RE: PC-cillin 2005-I.S. - OEM / WIN XP HOME / SP2 / DELL 2400
DIM / 512mb Ram / lots of HDD space., PC-cillin 2005 I.S., OEM

1: When I attempt to load the program from disk, it would not
continue unless I deleted Norton Internet Security, 2005.. I went into
MS CONFIG , unchecked "LOAD STARTUP ITEMS", and then rebooted, and
nothing was in my Notification Area except for the Sound Volume. icon..
I tried the PC-cillin CD again and got the same dumb Dialog Box! Do
they expect me to physically remove it from my HDD?? What if, while
loading the PC-cillin CD it requires that I go online to Register? I
don't want the risk of being online without Norton's protection. Help
please?.

2: I managed to get through the Norton problem, (ONCE! please don't
ask how), but I was stumped with the Registration . They provided a
series of (5) blank boxes to enter the Registration Number. The first
box being only TWO digits and the rest (4) digits.

3: The only number provided on the CD envelope was (5) numbers, all
four digits each. Now what!

Because it's still installed. Just because it isn't in startup doesn't mean
it isn't running. the services are still running.
Do they expect me to physically remove it from my HDD??

Either that or the services need to be stopped & disabled. Frankly, I think
you should uninstall Norton if you have PCCillin. Don't mix 'n match.
PCCillin comes with a firewall application.
What

You can uninstall Norton while not connected to the network/internet, enable
the Windows firewall, and connect.

You need to register to get the authorization code, if I recall correctly.
It should tell you this during setup.
