I am using a trail version of O&O defragmenter professional V6

http://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag/pro.html

Specs on machine 1 are 1.8 P4 with 768 mb ram (the 266 MHz one I think)
XP Pro SP2
Several NTFS parts.
Specs on machine 2 are 1.6a P4 with 655 mb ram
Xp Pro SP1
1 30 gb NTFS part.

This defragger has 4 methods of defragging (algorithms) and file placing:

-free space consolidation
-name
-recently modified
-number of times modified

Do these sort of defrags and reorganizations work on NTFS partitions over 10
gb and over? Is there a noticeable improvement gained if several passes are
done? I would like to try to use the reorganization via name but after a
couple of passes over my XP SP2 Root partition the drive seems to forget the
reorganization passes that O&O makes. It's a slow defragger but I'm
wondering if its worth the bother to try and reorganize by name if on next
start-up it has to go through the whole 2 our process again....... I have
not tried it yet on the SP1 box.

Any reviews from you folks here?

It's got every useless sort method except directory and file structure for
my partitioned games directory.
