I have NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 on my computer. It works fine when I was running Win98. When I upgraded to WinXP problem started. WinXP detected the hardware but after it copied the driver's files a message pop up that says the dirver cannot start because of an unknown missing file. The driver is the latest version. A chec at properties said "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Hi

What version Nvidia drivers are you using? I'm using 53.03 - not the
latest, haven't tried them yet - without any problems.

I had to install the drivers from safe mode for my 5700 card. Also be sure
you have the latest/greatest drivers from MVIDIA

The driver is from NVidia.com. The version is 53.04. Unfortunately windows kept insisting that a file was missing. It didn't state the name hence it won't start the driver.

I'm not sure this is important but it says the location is PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0. I'm very sure the card is AGP.

Sorry for the wrong place to post replies. The missing file problem disappeared after few reinstalls. The problem seems to be coming from the fact that windows kept thinking the card is in a pci slot.

NO, Windows sees hardware setup according to how it loads from being setup
in the BIOS.
