Just for the record, for people with nVidia display cards:

nVidia has, officially, released Vista video card drivers on their website.

They have released Vista drivers in their DRIVER DOWNLOAD area

They are not new. The drivers came out on May 23rd and they are beta
drivers.

Are you referring to the 88.61 drivers released in May?

5384.
Windows installer says - "could not find better driver"...

is like "Microsoft has released Windows XP". It's technically correct , but
of no value ;-)

I had no problem installing them but the various bits that would normally
be an improvement over the default nv drivers are missing, so there really
isn't any point.
