i had this card happily running for a year with XP. a few
days ago i attached a second monitor. happy again.

today my message is 'corrupt or missing driver'

i've tried everytning i can think of :
reinstalling driver - original version, new version,
older version the lot from nvidia website, my own system
backups ..

system restores
physically re-installing card
checking disk for errors ..

but no luck

help !

could this be a hardware problem with card ? or something
corrupted within registry ?

Nvidia always advises to switch to a bog standard vga driver, e.g. one
supplied with Windows, and to UNINSTALL your existing Nvidia drivers, and
rebooting, before installing new ones. Try doing this, and also cleaning up
your registry with something like Norton Windoctor before rebooting and
installing new Nvidia drivers.

Note that Norton Windoctor is not very clever, and sometimes makes mistakes.
You should create a "Restore Point" in XP before running Norton Windoctor,
and you should examine everything Norton proposes to do to your registry by
choosing the "Allow me to choose the repair for this error," for every
"error," in each category of errors it reports.

regards, Richard
