I had my Desktop keyboard plugged into my laptop, now for
some reason the num lock on the laptop is always on (which
is a pain because my password is all letters) is they a
way of turning off the numlock when XP boots up as I don't
use the plug-in keyboard anymore.

Hi Gord,

Go to: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\
InitialKeyboardIndicators

0 = numberlock off
2 = numberlock on

If you want the numlock on at the welcome screen you also need to change:

HKEY USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard\
InitialKeyboardIndicators same number values as above.

Or...

Set Numlock State On or Off at Startup (Line 4)
