number of users allowed to share a resource

when you right click on a file or folder then go to the "Sharing" tab the number of users is limited to 10.

But under admin tools if you click on "shares" and then right click on a shared folder or file you can have 99,999 users.

Why is it this way?

All Windows versions of workstation adhere to the ten connection limit.
Server versions are limited by license and or the server resources. (note:
depending on the process one user may require more than one connection.)

yes, I am aware of the 10 connection limit for win2k pro. That is why I am
puzzled. If you right click on a shared resource in the computer management
plugin tool for managing shares you can set any number of users you want up
99,999.
