Number of Excel 2007 Columns

The specs for Excel 2007 show 16,384 columns. My Trial version stops at 256
columns. Does anyone know why?
 
You have the file in compatibility mode.

Click the Office icon in the top left and select the Convert option. You
will needs to save the file as a xlsx file (or xlsm if it has macros) to use
it as a 2007 file.
