Num Lock off after Restart

When I start (or restart) my computer, the Num Lock is off. I want it always
on. I don't realize that it's off until after I've typed (tried to) my
Windows XP logon password, and the computer asks if I've forgotten my
password. This didn't start happening until I set up a User on XP. Thanks.

Hi

Try this:

You can enable NumLock via the Registry. Navigate to the following in the
Registry:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard

and double click on 'InitialKeyboardIndicators' in the right hand pane. Set
the value to 2.

Go into Regedit and navigate to the following location in the left pane:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard

In the right pane, right click on InitialKeyboardIndicators and click on
Modify.

In the Edit String dialog box, enter the number 3

Click OK in the Edit String text box and close the Registry Editor.
Reboot the PC.

Hi

I thought the values were:

Off = 0(Zero)
On = 2

You're right, my mistake. 3 would be both numlock and capslock on.

Sorry about that.
