I'm using an old software in DOS on my PC with WinXP PRO but this DOS
software is on a shared folder in my NT4 Server, when I run this on XP Pro
the process NTVDM rise 99% of my CPU an a lot of ram memory...

What can I do to avoid this? or to improve the CPU administration?

Have you tried to change the Idle Sensitivity of the application? This
will only work if it is waiting for input. The other options including
lowering the priority of the task in Task Manager or getting a computer
with Hyperthreading or two cores.
