NTOSKRNL.exe error at Bootup

About 3-4 a month when PC boots, it shows a DOS error
message that the Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe needs
reloaded. I power down and turn back on and PC works
fine. Its only once in awhile. Any suggestions? I did
a dirty install of Win XP Pro thinkin it would fix it,
bit it did not.
