OK I don't really know what I did for this to happen. I
tried repairing it by using my windows XP cd. It says it
copied the files successfully but the "NTLDR is missing"
error still is coming up when I start my computer. Can I
just reinstall Windows XP? But will it delete all my music
files, and t.v. shows that I have saved on my computer?

You can boot from the XP CD and do a repair install of XP on top of itself.
Nothing will be lost.

You may not have copied to the right place. It needs to be in the root
of the drive that actually boots (and gets seen as C:) The other
possibility if you have more than one partition on the drive is that the
wrong one has got set as the 'active' one. Set the BIOS to boot CD
before Hard Disk. Boot the XP CD and, instead of Setup, take the
immediate R for Repair. Assume any password requested is blank, and TAB
over.

Do the
COPY x:\i386\ntldr C:\ntldr
where x is the CD letter, then you can set the active partition by using
its command

diskpart
and then the subcommands
list partitions
to find the number n corresponding to the one to be booted -
probably 1 but check
select partition n
active
exit

Check to see if the jumpers on your hard drive are set right. If there is no drive set to master, you will get that error.
