NTLDR is missing or corrupt

NTLDR is missing or corrupt. NTFS drive does not boot and files inaccessible when the drive is slaved into another working NTFS system. Need to retrieve some data. Any suggestions?

Look at the fixboot command first, then fixmbr.

Tried it. I now have "NTLDR is missing Press Ctl+Alt+Del to restart." I guess that's an improvement, but I still cannot get to the files. I plan to try to boot from a floppy, if I can get a good one built
