After numerous problems with my PC, mostly hardware, the guy that repaired
it changed the file system from fat32 to ntfs, whats the general opinion
about this.

TIA
Bob.

More stable, more secure as NTFS allows implementation of XP's security
features though note, if you have Home Edition as opposed to Pro, not all
such features are available.

You'll hear pros and cons about both filing systems. Personally, I prefer
NTFS. While recovery options are tricky to learn if you're accustomed to
FAT32 methods, it is overall more stable file system.

The XP help system is amazingly good compared to previous versions of
Windows. Try searching in it for NTFS while online. Besides articles on the
topic stored in the local help file, you will get links to several online
MS Knowledge Base articles also covering the topic.
