Is there a way to create primary/secondary partitions with NTFS, like with
FAT16/FAT32?
What if I've only got 1 drive, and I want to both format the OS partition
AND save gigabytes of data --- this was a dilemma that I used to solve by
using partition magic to dynamicaly create a 2nd partition and move the data
into it and then format the original partition. Partitionmagic doesn't
seem to want to work on NTFS, though.
Suggestions?

You can do this during the initial install, but not after, using Windows.
If you upgrade your Partition Magic to a more current version that is
compatible with WinXP, it will work fine. Partition Magic 8.* works.
