NTFS Error

I have a NTFS error wich Im not able to fix. WHen the computer booted
today, it gave me a NTFS error, and said the disk had to be checked
for consistency. It did the check and found no errors. When XP
started, I did a chkdsk on the drive and it found no errors. But every
time the computer starts again, if says that there is a ntfs error on
that drive.

Some details
XP Pro SP1
WD Raptor Disk, 36GB as main disk, partitioned into C drive (26GB) and
D drive(~10 GB)
The ntfs error is on the D drive.

Your disk drive is giving stong signs that it's ready to pass on the the next
world.

Backup or clone this very soon.

I've had this same error message. I got the disk manufacturer's disk
checking program and the hard-drive tested just fine. I re-partitioned
and reformatted the disk... no luck. I eventually changed the IDE
cable and went back to the original Windows IDE drivers (I have an
ASUS A7N8XE board, and apparently it didn't like the nVidia IDE
drivers). No problems since.

Ill try what you told me, Ill let you know the outcome. I just bought
an extra harddrive, a Maxtor 80GB and Im backing up all the files
there.
