NTFS convert problem

I used BOOTNG (from a floppy) to align three WinXP Pro FAT32 volumes on one
disk with no problems. I then used Convert c: /fs:NTFS to convert Vol C:,
which happened on the reboot and which seemed to progress normally,
However, on the next reboot the message "Missing operating system" displays.
When I examined the disk partition with BOOTNG, Partition 0 does not display
volume C:, Partition 2, (extended) does display the two other volumes (D: &
E:), which are still FAT32, as I hadn't run Convert on those.

What has happened to c:?

So, I'm now in the process of running the ASR System Recovery from the XP
CD, which has deleted and restored Partion0 and is formatting. (We have the
ASR System floppy and tape backup.) Is it correct to assume that was my
only option? Or, could I have repaired this more easily? Or, should I have
used the Full Backup ASR floppy? (We backup to DAT tape.)

(I perhaps should mention that I just converted the disk on another XP Pro
based computer using the same process, with no problems at all.)

Sounds like alot of unneeded cmds to me,simply go to run, type:cmd
In cmd type:CONVERT C: /FS:ntfs Agree,type:EXIT Restart computer,C:
gets converted,in xp,retype in cmd but type:D: instead of C: Then do E:
after.

But I had done exactly what you said as regards C:, but when rebooting, I
got the "missing operating system" message. (Thus I didn't get to D: and
E:.)
