NTFS and Extended DOS partitions

B

Bob Shoemaker

I read the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 261473
regarding deleting Extended DOS partitions. I get ther
error that I cannot delete the partition since it has
logical drives, and when I try to delete logical drives it
tells me there aren't any. I formatted the drives with
WinXP. The Extended DOS partition is 37GB and WinXP tells
me it cannot format it as FAT32 if it is over 32GB. What
kind of lame thinking is that?

Anybody know where to get a BIG FDISK version for XP that
will let me kill all the partitions and start this drive
over again?

No need to use any fdisk or bigfdisk.

Set your BIOS to boot from CD-ROM before the hard drive.
Insert the XP CD.
Reboot.
Press a key to boot from CD if prompted.
When XP setup starts, you'll have the option to delete
partitions, then create them and install the OS.
