NtFRS errors

Keep receiving this error on my DC's DNS is working ok and the FRS service
is running on the servers.


The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from
server1 to server2 for d:\winnt\sysvol\domain using the DNS name
server1.happy.nohappy.com FRS will keep retrying.

It then lists 3 reasons this could be happening.

1. FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name server1.happy.nohappy.com from
this computer - I checked no problem
2. FRS is not running on server1.happy.nohappy.com - It is I checked
3. The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not
yet replicated to all the DC - It is I checked.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

FRS troubleshooting is not my speciality. That said #3 is the trickiest to
verify. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296183 has
info on the objects in Active Directory FRS uses.

has information on troubleshooting tools. The FRS Monitoring Help File is
particularly useful.

Is AD replication between the two servers working?

AD is replicating to a point, user info is somewhat, Group Policy changes
are another story. Last night one of my users locked out (recently changed
PW) my guess is that it was not replicated the lock out was shown only on
one server the other 2 showed his account active.
