About placing the command inside a batch file:
Have a look at the properties of the scheduled backup
command (Control Panel / Task Scheduler). It contains
the complete command line. Copy & paste it into your
batch file!
About the alert: What sort of an alert do you want? An
email to yourself? A pop-up panel on the screen? An
entry in the Event Logger?
