Hello,

Is there an alert feature in Windows 2000 backup utility?

Thanks,

Vince

Place the backup command inside a batch file, then
add your own line for the alert.

Any tips on how to place the backup command inside a batch
file, and add the line for the alert would be greatly
appriciated.

Vince

About placing the command inside a batch file:
Have a look at the properties of the scheduled backup
command (Control Panel / Task Scheduler). It contains
the complete command line. Copy & paste it into your
batch file!

About the alert: What sort of an alert do you want? An
email to yourself? A pop-up panel on the screen? An
entry in the Event Logger?

An email to me.

Thanks,
Vince

Try sendmail, mailto or blat. They are all in the public domain.
