Hi all,
I have a customer who has a macintosh network storage device and a dell
poweredge 26000 win2k machine in his network. He is logged in with
administrator privileges. He can copy files from windows 2000 machine to the
macintosh smb network share but when he tries to use the ntbackup utility to
backup the files from windows 2000 to the macintosh network share, it says
access denied. We can use the ntbackup utility to backup the files on the same
2k machine though. This means that the ntbackup is running fine. The
permissions on the mac volume are alright according to him but I am not aware
of the permissions on a mac volume. Can anyone help me out in this?

Hi All,
After verifying all he permissions on the mac smb share, we created a
subfolder inside the root directory , with the same permissions and mapped
it. This time, we were able to backup the windows 2000 files on this
subfolder. Can anyone explain the reason. We did not change any permissions
and the subfolder inherited all the permissions of the root folder.
