NTBackup scheduled jobs not running

I've set up scheduled jobs to perform weekly and daily
backups on my Windows XP Home Edition system.

Task Manager is active.

The scheduled jobs don't run under control of the
scheduler.

What am I doing wrong? Do I have to start NTbackup at
startup - seems unlikely
