I am using XP Home and know how to install NTBackup from my CD and know ASR
does not work in Home. However I still have some questions about its use for
backing up data files:

1. I have a removable USB2 HD available for backups.

2. Is NTbackup faster or better than backing up using simple copy or zip?

3. How reliable is NTbackup? It used to have bad things said about it.

4. Does NTBackup backup open files?

5. When I just tried it, it said at the end "Some file types excluded". This
appears worrisome! I
found the list of excluded files. Why are so many excluded? Any advice?
Should I edit this?

Thanks.

Keep it simple and don't entertain NT Backups for any serious data storage,
get yourself some 3rd party software and do it properly.

I see you do not trust NTBackup <grin>. What is a good backup program that
will back up to either a second HD or preferably to my second HD on a USB2
connection.

Thanks.
