NTBackup - Archive Bit Not Reset

I am using NTBackup on a W2K server to back up various shares on the network
via mapped drives. I have noticed that one share which resides on an XP
machine is not having the archive bit reset by Normal and Incremental
backups.
Is there a setting in XP that I am not familiar with to allow this?

Does the backup account have permission?
Does the System account have permission?

Yeah, it's a domain admin account and it was added to the local
administrators group.
