NT On-Access Scanner Service

I am running Windows XP and when I start up my machine it
takes a long time to load my personal user settings and
then when it does load and error message also appears
that says "NT On-Access Scanner Service could not finish".
What do I need to do to get this to quit so my machine
will load like it is suppose to?
