NT FTP to Win2K FTP

B

Bill Holland

We have an IIS 4 FTP server running on NT4 SP6a. I need
to replace it with an IIS 5 FTP server running on Win2K
Server SP3. Both of these are member servers in an NT4
domain.

There are approximately 1400 accounts on the current FTP
server. I need to transfer all these NT user accounts,
complete with passwords, to the Win2K Server. Upgrading
the current NT 4 box to Win2K is not an option for 2
reasons - 1) strictly forbidden to do an OS upgrade by
corporate policy 2) need to keep NT box online - Win2K
box will be in another site so both machines must be
online.

Dameware NT Utilities will not work because it detects
the presence of SYSKEY.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Check the "adduser" utility in the Resource Kit if you have it. It may
do the job.
