hope someone can help.......messages pops up on screen at
any time saying that the system needs to close and a
timer starts counting down from 60 seconds then the
computer shuts down.

the first 2 or 3 times the message said it was due to
windows/system 32...........I ran a virus scan and
detected 2 infected files and system 32 was deleted....so
end of problem.

I thought so....but now its still doing it but saying its
due to NT Authority/System.......I have run a virus scan
again but nothing detected......

at a loss as to what to do now.......please help

A commonly reported worm...

If you connected the PC to the Internet without having first
installed the KB824146 Hotfix, without having first installed an
antivirus application with current virus definition files, and before
enabling a firewall, you're very likely to get infected from any of
the thousands of PCs on the Internet that are constantly broadcasting
the Blaster and/or Welchia worms. It only takes a few seconds of
exposure.

To stay on-line long enough to get the necessary updates, patches,
and removal tools, click Start > Run, and enter "shutdown -a" when the
next RPC countdown begins. This will abort the shut down. Also, make
sure you've enabled a firewall before starting, to preclude any more
intrusions while getting the updates/patches/tools.
