NSW GoBack

Hello

Please, before everyone is ready to jump on me and attack me regarding a
program I am having trouble with, and goes through reasons I should not use
GoBack, please let the post to possible problem solving.

I use the program and I'm looking for someone else that may be using it and
could help me with a problem.

I am using Symantec NSW 2007 ... I remember when I first installed it, I had
to keep trying over and over to get the "GoBack" feature to load and work.

I've been through numerous Knowledge Basics and research, but unable to find
results for this specific problem.

Is there someone that is using this program that could assist me with this.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Hello:

This newsgroup is actually for Windows XP. If you want help with Norton
GoBack you need to ask Symantec technical support or find a newsgroup
that deals with Symantec products.

Hello,
Do not understand some of your post.
If GoBack is installed what is the ?
If not installed then the following may be of some help.
1. Clean up the system, then go off line and shut down
AV, POP UP Stoppers, Spy-Malware killer and anything in the system tray that
can be closed and still operate the OS.
2. If you tried to install GoBack and failed then remove GoBack from Control
Panel in "Add-Remove". Check in "Program Files" after deleting from
"Add-Remove" and remove GoBack folder.
3. If you can use "Regedit", then remove "GoBack" listed items from registry.
4. Reboot and install GoBack.
5. Startup all items that were stopped, reboot and go online. GoBack usually
is easy to intall, do not know why you are having this problem.
6. Caution: GoBack will need about 10% of your harddrive space.
You should read the information on operating GoBack, In particular
booting practices and large operations. Defragmenting, video copying will
take up all the space, so it is a good idea to shut down GoBack when
preforming these operations.
take care.

Thanks for your response.

GoBack wants to install from a "Modify" setting, however, it also starts
uninstalling the NSW. There are no instructions regarding GoBack. It does
not install with the NSW.

will give your procedure a try.

Hello,
With "Norton" there always seems to be complications.
Part 2;
Suggest you uninstall "NSW" before installing "GoBack", then install "NSW".
GoBack should be a stand alone application. With a icon in the system tray.
If installed in a proper manner, a screen will show at each startup before
the operating system starts. This allows you to access GoBack in case you
cannot access the OS. GoBack changes the MBR in order to accomplish access.
Because of this "Never" boot the computer from a disc without using the
startup GoBack screen.
GoBack copies all files and allows you to revert complete drive or
individual files.
If using GoBack suggest turning off MS System Restore.
Modify may suggest not enough HD space.
take care.
