I have unloaded and reloaded and unloaded norton
antivirus and used norton protect bin. I have found a
folder on my C and D drives called Recycler\nprotect. On
my C drive it is holding old files of 15,000 taking up
space of 250MB and my D drive has 43,000 files taking up
4GB of space. How do I retrieve my lost SPACE of 4.5GB
and remove these old deleted files?

Right click on the "Norton Protected Recycled Bin" on your desktop and
select "Empty Norton Protected Files", and then select "Purge all".

In addition, Right-click on the desk icon and select "Properties". There
you can configure the % of drive space to be set aside and also how often
tyhe files are automatically purged. At least that's the way it works on my
system.

WITH NORTON INSTALLED, right-click on the "trashcan" icon on the
desktop. You will see two entries, "Empty recycle bin" and "Empty
Norton Protected Recycle Bin". Click on "Empty recycle bin". When it's
done, do it again, this time click on "Empty Norton Protected recycle
bin". This will get rid of all of those files.

WARNING: THIS WILL GET RID OF ALL OF THOSE FILES !!!

Just be sure that there's nothing there that you later decide that you
need !

.
the trouble is i have purged all files on a regular
basis but when i have uninstalled nortons i have lost the
link to these files.; I have checked my other ncomputers
and found the same trash files stored in
C:\recycler\nprotect folder and i am unable to delete
them. Some i could delete and i have recovered 1 GB so
far but the other files are of the type 0000122332123.
and have no extension and can not be deleted, by the way
C:\recycler\nprotect is a hidden folder.
