Noting under Outlook data Files

When I try to add an outlook data file there is no option to choose a
type of pst file.

I am using Outlook 2003, I go to Mail in the control panel --> choose
Data Files --> Choose Add and there is nothing in the box under "types
of storage".

I have so far tried to to do a detect and and repair, repair through
add/remove programs and scanned using the system file checker.

I am out of ideas. anyone seen this before?

Where are you choosing the data file from? Is the data file actually in that
location?

I don't even get a choice of what data file, I can't get that far. The
box that reads 'types of storage' is empty. I would normally chose
between an 97-2002 pst or a 2003 pst file.
