Notification of response to message

An issue I run into frequently is loosing track of messages that I've sent
out that need a reply. For example, I'll send a message to a colleague that
requires their response. If this person does not respond, I have no other
way of tracking this and it falls through the cracks. Does anyone else have
this problem. I've tried copying important items to my tasks and calendar to
check in the future about an important reply message that I'm waiting
for...but this is very cumbersome. Any thoughts, recommendations

You should mention your version of Outlook. Look up Read Receipts in Help.
