When I get a new email from someone specific, I move it to a folder and put
it as read but the notification icon keep opened printing "you have new
unopened items" when I put my mouse on it.

But the rule should have put it as read.. so the icon shouldn't be there.

Anyway; for what version of Outlook? Behavior has changed over the versions.

Sorry about this being the wrong thread.

I'm currently using Microsoft Office Outlook Professional Edition 2003
v11.6359.6360 with SP1 installed.

I can add that if I receive a message that is auto unread thanks to a rules,
the icon is still there, but if I receive another message that I need to
read, then if I read it the notification icon will disappear as it is
supposed to.
