Notification Area Problems

My Internet connection icon has disappeared from my notification area. It has
also disappeared from the notification area icons past and present box,ie
hide or show The internet loads but l have to turn the modem off physically.
Also usb connection arrow has done a runner.
Help
 
Internet Icon Missing From System Tray/Notification Area:-

Open the Control Panel
Open Network Connections
Right-click on your internet connection
Click Properties
Check the box next to "Show icon in notification area when connected"
Click [OK]
 
Until you can get the icon back, you can disconnect from the internet by
double clicking the same
icon you used to connect in the first place.
When you do this the status window for the current connection will appear
instead, and you can
click Disconnect like usual.
