Hi there, i hope that you can help me. Just all of a sudden, the
notification area fails to hide unused icons. I usually have my screen at a
low resolution as i'm partially sighted, and rely on the notification area
shrinking to hide the icons i'm not using. Consequently this area takes up a
large portion of the taskbar.

I have checked in properties to ensure that the hiding of icons is still
enabled. I have even restored defaults so that all icons are set to be
hidden, yet there is no arrow and the icons are permanently shown.

Thanks

Try using this program (it's free to use most features) to reset the
taskbar:

Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!:

If it works, don't thank me - thank Kelly.
