I have a Client Contact folder as a subfolder of my main Contacts...I have
about 30 test entries of contacts that have come on line in the last month
or so. When in this Client Contact sub folder...which has worked fine...I
was adding an additional field to the existing view...and got an error
messages saying Outlook could not complete task...folder is full...restart
Outlook

When I restart Outlook..and try to open the subfolder...I get a "Unable to
display folder. The folder is full"...and no contacts ?

I did a scanpst and it reported and fixed some errors...but still nothing in
the subcontract folder view pan ?

Four other contact subfolders and main contact folder are working fine ?

Anyone know what happened and how to get my views back ?

Thanks, Tim R

Reset the view for that folder;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Reset Current View

Thanks Roady...but "Arrange By isn't there...just 1) Navigation Pane. 2)
Reading Pane 3) Toolbars and 4) Status Bar
When I go to the customized button for toolbars...Arrange By isn't there
either ?

You could try starting Outlook with the /cleanviews switch but this will
reset the views for all your folders and your custom views will be lost.

Luckily...I have a backup as an alternative. I made a backup of the
backup....and replaced the pst file and all is well. However...in playing
with the new o.pst...I notice...in this folder only...that if I disable
"Automatically generate Microsoft exchange views" the problem starts again.
I don't loose my complete view on restart...but if I try to add field to the
view...I get the cannot - folder full message" (although I think that's the
way the [problem started initially)

What does "Automatically generate ME vies actually do ? I have disabled
this in most of my folders for years with no problems...but in this folder
(which is generated by an "Addin" the folder apparently goes bonkers when
this check is removed and/or rechecked again ?

Thanks, Tim
